CEREC same-day dental crowns in Barrie are made right here in our dental office while you wait!
How CEREC Dental Crowns Differ from Traditional Dental Crowns
- No Waiting: We can mill and print a CEREC dental crown while you wait. No waiting weeks. No coming back for fittings.
- Dentist Is in Charge: Your dentist can oversee the fabrication of your crown.
- Quality Ceramic: Same-day crowns are cut from a single block of porcelain.
CEREC Same-Day Crowns: Step by Step
- Step 1) Initial Exam and Tooth Preparation: Your Barrie dentist provides an exam to ensure crowning is the best course. If so, we prepare the tooth (removing old filling material and shaping it) to receive the new crown. This is a painless process.
- Step 2) Digital Impression with an Intraoral Scanner: In the past, you might have endured goopy impression materials when getting a restoration. With CEREC, we take a digital scan, which is far more comfortable for you.
- Step 3) 3D CAD Design of Your Custom Dental Crown: We send the digital impression to on-site software, which designs your crown to specification. We then forward the results to our milling machine and printer.
- Step 4) In-Office Milling from a Ceramic Bloc: Our in-office milling machine cuts your crown from a single block of porcelain.
- Step 5) Final Placement, Bonding, and Polishing: Your dentist makes all final adjustments before cementing the crown over the prepared tooth. Then, we finish with a polish.
CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown Care and Upkeep
CEREC Crowns are easy to care for and require only the same maintenance you provide for your unrestored teeth. Visit the dentist regularly for checkups and teeth cleans, and remember to brush and floss at least twice daily.
It’s important that you not bite into sticky foods with a restored tooth or use your teeth (and restorations) as tools to rip open packages or twist off caps.
